What to Expect from a Chemical Peel
Before
The first step is a free consultation with one of our expert Aestheticians. During this consultation, an assessment is done to ensure that you are a good candidate for a chemical peel. We will discuss your goals and treatment options. If you are a good candidate for a chemical peel, we will work with you to determine which peel is best for you!
Treatment Preparation
- Limit UV exposure 2 weeks pre-peel
Discontinue use of products such as those containing Retinol, BHA’s/AHA’s, Benzoyl Peroxide and other products as discussed with your treatment provider for one week before peel - If you are taking Accutane, you must wait at least 6 months after stopping Accutane. Check with your Dermatologist/Provider if you have taken Accutane within the last year.
- If you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding, you cannot have a chemical peel
- The length of downtime and peeling is different for each client; dry and dehydrated skin will peel for longer, while oily and acne prone skin may peel lightly or not at all
During
During your treatment, the skin is first cleansed and then your chosen peel is applied to the skin. The treatment usually takes 30 minutes to an hour.
After
